Miele MasterCool built-ins, and what the fault codes are telling you
A Miele built-in refrigerator will usually tell you something is wrong before you can feel it, which is an advantage — provided the code on the panel is read as a starting point rather than as a diagnosis.

The code narrows it; it does not name the part
Miele refrigeration reports faults as a letter and a number on the control panel, and those codes point at a circuit rather than a component. A sensor code, for example, is equally consistent with a failed sensor, a chafed harness at the hinge, and a connector that has worked loose behind the cabinet. Any of the three produces the same reading at the board; only one of them is fixed by a new part.
So the code is written down, and then the circuit is tested at both ends. Skipping that step is how a working sensor gets replaced and the fault comes back a fortnight later.

Air movement, and the things it explains
These cabinets rely on forced circulation to keep the compartment even. When the circulation fan slows or stops, the top and bottom of the same compartment can differ by several degrees while the display holds steady at the set point, because the sensor sits in a part of the cabinet that is still being served. Measuring at both ends of the compartment is what exposes that, and it takes two minutes.
Outside the cabinet, MasterCool columns are built to sit flush behind furniture panels with a defined ventilation route above and below. In the very large Weston kitchens where several units share one run, that route is the first thing to check: two columns and a wine cabinet exhausting into the same closed soffit will all run warm together, and no component in any of them has failed.

Heavy doors and hinge cartridges
A MasterCool door carrying a full-height cabinet panel is a substantial weight hung on a hinge assembly, and the assembly is designed to be adjusted and, where necessary, replaced. Symptoms of a door that no longer sits square are consistent: a warm top shelf, condensation on the frame, a light that does not extinguish, and a compressor that never quite stops.
Adjustment comes before replacement. A door that can be brought back into line is not a parts job, and on this platform the adjustment range is generous enough to be worth trying properly first.
If the ice or water side is fitted, filter age belongs in the same conversation — a restricted filter produces cloudy, undersized cubes long before it produces any code at all.
